AFTER WORK

AFTER WORK

“After Work” is a culmination of ideas and inspiration. I originally had three ideas photographing strangers; photographing universal feelings; and photographing work. These ideas mixed with inspiration from Richard Renaldi led me to this project. Capturing people after they get off work. It is a universal feeling that most will experience in their lifetime. All these people that are presented today feel that rush, relief or sadness of leaving their workplace on a daily basis. Each person is different, but they all share one common thread. There are stories behind every single one of these photographs, some speak to us more than others, but you can tell there’s a story. I was lucky enough to meet and photograph every one of these individuals hearing their stories firsthand. There is a name attached to every photograph here but I’m sure for many of you there’s a second name that arises. Whether it be a relative who shares similar work, a neighbor you know works those long hours or even yourself, relating with the feeling that one of the photographs portrays after you get off work. This project was taken using a 4x5 large format film camera as a way to slow down and appreciate the process.
